I am currently a Regulatory Analyst III in the Office for the Protection of Human Subjects at Children's National Hospital in Washington, D.C. where I am an analyst for an IRB board and am also responsible for conducting reviews of NHSR, exempt and expedited submissions. I have previously worked as a Senior IRB Analyst at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an IRB Administrator at Phoenix Children's Hospital and an IRB Coordinator at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL. I have conducted numerous IRB-related studies regarding such topics as Central IRBs vs Local IRBs, IRB Satisfaction, devloping a curriculum for group studying for the CIP examination, development of a Jump Start training program for those hired without previous IRB experience and multiple studies on Obtaining Assent from pediatric subjects. The main focus of my research has been on Assent and what an appropriate age is to obtain assent from children. I have served as an IRB member on the Nemours Children's Clinic IRB, an alternate on the Phoenix Children's Hospital and UNC Chapel Hill IRBs and am a member of the Children's National Hospital IRB.
