SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Rizk is an Emirate Professor of Clinical Pathology at Cairo University School of Medicine in Egypt, with a special experience in hematology and hematopathology, medical education, and research ethics. She had 20 years of work experience in clinical laboratory practice, research, and management in the health field, Pediatric hematology, Consultant of laboratory hematology for FUO (fever of unknown origin) cases at Abbassia Fever Hospital-NAMRU-3.
She is a member of the Cairo University IRB and has contributed to the planning and teaching of postgraduate courses in research ethics and participated in many national and international ethics meetings and workshops. Global research ethics is one of her special interests. She attended 2 global research courses namely; the "ETHICAL ISSUES IN GLOBAL HEALTH RESEARCH (EIGHR)" on SEPTEMBER 23-26, 2019 at HARVARD MEDICAL SCHOOL BOSTON, MA., and the 2020 Global Bioethics Initiative course online
Dr. Rizk was certified as an IRB professional (CIP) in, 2015 with recertification in 2018, and 2021. In addition, she is also a certified Research ethics trainer through "the Research ethics training" program at the University of Maryland, in May 2009.
She authored 2 ethics books chapters. One is: "Risk-benefit Assessment in Clinical Research Practice" in the: "Ethics in Research Practice and Innovation" book, published by IGI Global, 2020.
