Dr. Ian Chen has a cross-disciplinary education and career in law, medicine and administration. He received his M.D. in 1991 and Master of Law in 1996 in Taiwan. He also received his Master of Law and Juries Science Doctor degree from the Washington University in St. Louis, US in 2003 and 2006 respectively. Dr. Chen is now responsible for the human research protection program of the National Taiwan University Hospital. The Hospital is an AAHRP accredited and JCI (The Joint Commission International) accredited medical center.
Before joining NTU Hospital, Dr. Chen was the acting CEO of Taiwan Hospital Accreditation Agency. He also practiced law in medical malpractice and criminal cases. Dring 2001-23002, he worked for the Ministry of Health, Taiwan.
