Dr. Curtis’ research focus is translational, leveraging social media and big data methodology to form the development, evaluation, and implementation of technology-based tools that address substance use and related conditions such as HIV/AIDS. Brenda is Chief of the Technology and Translational Research Unit (TTRU) at the National Institute on Drug Abuse Intramural Research Program. The TTRU pairs evidenced-based research with novel methods and emerging technologies to address the societal need for empirically validated drug use interventions. TTRU is committed to solving problems experienced by people in recovery and undergoing substance use treatment. Through clinical research, we intersect addiction treatment, technology, and long-term recovery.
