Dr. Sarah B. Ware is Founder and Principal Investigator of BioBlaze Community Bio Lab and Blossom Bio Labs, Inc. She also teaches biology and humanities at Benedictine University, College of DuPage and Saint Xavier University in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. BioBlaze is a nonprofit organization that is the first and only community bio lab in Illinois. Members of the general public can access labware and equipment such as flasks, beakers, laminar flow hoods, centrifuges and autoclaves to perform original research. Blossom Bio labs is a BSL-2 CLIA-certified diagnostics lab. Sarah’s current independent research includes development of an open source diagnostic test for SARS-CoV-2. She is also focusing on efforts to bridge gaps between traditional and non-traditional researchers and institutions.
