David A. Borasky, Jr., MPH, CIP is Vice President, IRB Compliance for WCG where he is responsible for quality and compliance functions across the five WCG IRBs. He has two decades of experience managing institutional review boards in multiple settings including research institutes, large academic medical centers, and independent IRBs. David also has experience facilitating training activities on basic research ethics and IRB operations and function for IRBs and investigators, and has provided hands-on assistance to IRBs throughout North America, Africa and Asia, specializing in capacity-building for IRBs in low-resource settings. He has served as a consultant for the Office of Human Research Protections, the US Department of Energy, the World Health Organization and numerous other institutions. David is a Certified IRB Professional and former member of the Board of Directors for PRIM&R. He is Co-Chair of the Subpart A Subcommittee of the HHS Secretary’s Advisory Committee on Human Research Protections. David is a frequently presenter on IRB operations and quality and compliance in the IRB setting.
