Mary Hanabury is the Director for Research Administration at Northern Arizona University. She has been involved in human subject research protections for almost 20 years. Prior to serving as the Human Research Protection Program Director at NAU for the past five years, Mary served as the Assistant Director for Research Compliance Services at the University of Oregon, working in areas of Human and Animal Research, Conflict-of-Interest in Research, Responsible Conduct of Research, and Research Misconduct. Mary first started her work in human subjects research protections as a graduate research assistant and later served as the IRB Director at the University of Kansas. During this time, she was an IRB member at Haskell Indian Nations University, supporting biomedical and SBER research.
