Mr. Allen has led a successful career overseeing animal and human research protections along with research ethics. He has successfully established and managed multiple compliance offices and training programs for various aspects of research ethics. Currently as the Associate Director for Research Integrity and Compliance at the University of South Florida he oversees the IRB, COI, and QA/QI programs.
As a Consultant for HRP Consulting Group Mr. Allen aided in program evaluations, accreditation preparation (both animal and human), program development, crisis management and educational activities. These endeavors were conducted globally and provided a diverse understanding of compliance on numerous platforms.
Previously at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro Mr. Allen established the research ethics office and revitalized its compliance programs. In his time there he served as the Director for the Office of Research Compliance. In this position Mr. Allen functioned as the Research Integrity Officer (RIO), Institutional Official designee, overseeing seeing the IRB, IACUC, IBC. He also created a training curriculum to satisfy both NIH and NSF Responsible Conduct of Research requirements.
Starting his career as a Research Associate at North Carolina A&T State University over three years Mr. Allen developed their compliance programs inclusive of IRB, IACUC, and IBC and managed pre and post award process for various federal agencies.
